Cruise to San Juan Capistrano
Sunday February 19th So Cal Mets took a cruise to San Juan Capistrano. Your web master was under the weather so enjoy the pictures and write up by our retired newsletter editor Ken Conner, Thanx Ken!

Our February 19th cruise took us to South Orange County. We started in Tustin at Mike & Kim Dahlberg‘s home. In addition to the Dahlberg‘s, other Metters were Chris Di Tommaso and Kim , Bridget Mills, Judy Smith, Patrick Halbert with his friend Debbie, Brant Boling with his son, Tom Booth and Ken Conner. Mike Dahlberg lead our 7 Metropolitan‘s down tree-lined Irvine Boulevard, then up through the almost scenic light industrial area until we connected with Laguna Canyon Road. Laguna Canyon emptied us beside the beach at Pacific Coast Highway. From there we added to the spectacle of coastal traffic all the way to San Juan Capistrano where we enjoyed lunch at El Adobe Restaurant. We inquired about the swallows returning and we're told that they will show up in March. None of us toured the famous Mission but some of us checked out the antique shops. It was a blue sky day and perfect for cruising along the ocean in a Metropolitan.

Visit to The Lions Drag Strip Automobilia Museum
Saturday January 21st So Cal Mets made our first 2023 outing and visited the Lions Drag Strip Automobilia Museum in Rancho Dominguez California. After a great time at the Museum we went to lunch at 'Bobs Broiler in Downey. Bobs broiler was originally 'Harvey's Broiler and was saved from the wrecking ball by Bobs Big Boy restaurants. They found the original blueprints and restored to the way it used to be. To learn more go to 'bobsbigboybroiler.com. Metters along for the ride were our new President Mike Dahlberg and his Daughter Katie, our new Cruise Director Chris Di Tommaso, Kim Dominguez, Ken Conner, Tony Bilotti, Cindy & Bill Harris, Gabriel & Rose Baltierra, Byron Robinette, Brant Boling and his Son Lincoln I believe, Patrick Halbert and his Daughter Leanne, Judy Smith and her friend Gina and Bob & Phyllis Burchett.
We all 'MET' at the museum. The place is HUGE! Walked around for some time soaking in all they had to offer.
It was a great outing on a nice day!
